'Love is in the air'... A travel themed event

Traditionally when we think of a themed event we think of things like plastic, dollar stores, carboard cut-outs & Ebay buys... yet it doesn't have to be like that!

We were approached by our client's Maria & Wade, who had started their love story by meeting on a plane, so there became the perfect theme to their engagement party!

With Maria's help we started brainstorming key elements to make this night the complete memorable experience for their guests.

Key words that came to mind were; journey, travel, airplanes, clouds, sky, vintage maps, globes, suit cases... this started the basis of our design!

The night started with a vintage entry feature welcoming guests to Board & Check In to 'W&M Airlines', then they had their 'Luggage Drop Off' (Gifts & Cards), followed by complimentary 'In Flight Beverages', the Giuseppe's Cantina Bar offering 'Jet Fuel'... as well as an exclusive 'The Mile High Club' Cocktail.

The Giuseppe's Cantina staff also going the extra mile and wearing air hostess badges and scarves to greet guests!

The fun certainly didn't end there, we had a whole photo wall dedicated to Wade & Maria's memories, as well as an opportunity to get your 'Passport Photo' at the themed photo backdrop wall.

SnapZone Photobooth's were also at the event, prompting guests to get a fun snap in front of their 'green screen' which made them look as if they were on an actual airplane!

The centrepieces around the room were all fresh flowers, sitting on top of vintage travel books and complimented by a vintage map paper plane, I'm sure the paper planes were put to good use later in the night!

Maria from Mad About Cupcakes worked her magic on the themed Cake & Cupcakes, fitting perfectly into the theme and complimenting the room. WYLD Gifts adding that extra touch with their personalised cake topper...

Entertainment sang the night away and had guests dancing until the venue closed.
